Mumbo Gumbo – A great quilt to use up your stash – easy and fun!

When: Monday, March 22, 10-4p
Where: Faith Lutheran Church
Teacher: Su Palmer
Cost: $15
Material requirements:
Black Print        1/2 yard
Yellow prints      1/2 yard or various 4" blocks to equal 24
Scraps for strips     Lots and lots and lots! You can't have too many!

"Cut strips in various widths from 1 1/4 inches to 2 inches.  You will need lots and lots of them. There is no set amount, as it will depend on how you put your blocks together.  Try to use strips you have laying around from other projects as well as new fabric."
Backing 5 yards; Binding not included

Finished block will be 11 x 11 and will be cut to that size – a large square would be helpful.

I would love to see folks cut strips and then share with others as they build their blocks.  I have a picture of quilt block in pinks, greens and black.  Also saw one today, where they put sashing between blocks and that look nice and neat.

It is totally letting go of what we expect, not matching the seams on blocks when we put four blocks together to form the larger block.
